Technical Support Team

About Us

The Technical Support Team (TST) is a small group of talented individuals that provides dedicated support services and solutions to members of staff within the School of Informatics, School of Engineering and Mathematics, and to students taking their courses.

We manage a small bespoke computing infrastructure that allows us to provide flexible and ad-hoc hardware, web-hosting and software solutions outside of the central University computing function. This freedom allows us to provide fast, creative and flexible resolutions for administration, teaching and research purposes.

Day-to-day we extend the services of the core university computing function, providing first, second and third line support to staff and students, and providing staff with networked desktop computing, e-mail and printing capabilities. We also manage a small dedicated computer lab for students, which uses bespoke software packages for the practical elements of Informatics courses. We have close ties with central computing functions and are able to liaise and delegate issues to them from our users when appropriate.
